Wow! This weekend has flown by, and man, did we have a lot of fun! It all started on Friday afternoon when my cousins Brittany and Nate, drove down from Warsaw to spend the weekend with Cory and I. Here's a little background info ~ Brittany graduated in June from Hiram College in Ohio and is waiting to hear back on internship applications to determine where she will relocate. Nate is a student at Grace College in Winona Lake, IN studying pre-physical therapy, he was originally at Auburn University for a few years before changing majors & schools. Since Brittany's internship might send her to either Virgina or Florida, we've been trying to take advantage of our time together while she's still close, however, there is an internship possibility here in Indiana so we might be able to keep the visits going :)
Friday night, we went to see the movie "Tropic Thunder" (per request of the cousins!)...it had some really funny moments and some worthy one-liner's, but overall it was just ridiculous! Then we headed to Cheeseburger in Paradise for some dinner. We were actually able to walk right in and be seated...this has never happened to us before! They had live music going so it made for a nice time. Then we came home to catch the Olympic swimming events, especially since Nate was with us because he was a swimmer at Auburn University and has trained with several of the Olympic swimmers, so it was great to hear his opinions & comments with each race.

Saturday we hit the Indiana State Fair. We rode the train down to the fairgrounds from the Fisher's station, which is always charming. But this

year, as we were walking up to the train station to purchase our tickets, a Fisher's police officer pulls up in his cruiser (while we're walking on the road) and rolls down his window **now, things running through our minds at this point - we're in trouble for walking on the road and not the sidewalk, he's going to ask us if we've seen someone doing

something suspicious, he's going to ask us for directions (ha!) or he's going to tell us that we missed the train or it's running late** well, he actually had 4 complementary round trip train tickets and wanted to give them to us! The train ride was nice and we got to the fair by about

2pm. We did the typical fair stuff...ate BBQ, corn dogs, funnel cakes, ice cream and tried the fried oreos (yuck!), we rode the giant ferris wheel and the crazy spinny ride (where you strap yourself in this stand up cage and then it starts spinning you in a circle & tilts upward

s), and took a few breaks from walking by riding the fair trolley. We didn't play any games this year after our poor fishy that we won at the fair last year died the next day! We were all beat by the end of day from the
blaring sun, heat, and walking in flip-flops (my dumbest move ever). We rode the train back home and after some showers & changing into comfy clothes we ordered pizza for dinner and ended up watching a movie and the men's swimming relay just before bed.
Surprisingly, we all got up at a respectable time in the morning, had left over pizza for breakfast and played a few games before it was time for the cousins to head back home. It was sad to say goodbye and not know when the 4 of us would be together again, but we've had so much fun having them down this summer and we're very thankful for that.
So, the rest of today will be spend doing the typical weekend chores - laundry, dishes, grocery shopping, lawn work and organizing our plans for this upcoming week.
