Owen is 10 weeks old today! I swear, some days Cory and I look at him and just marvel at how fast he grows and changes....which is totally bittersweet. When he came home from the hospital, he was only 6lbs 5oz and now he's at least 11lbs - almost double his birth weight, so my little peanut is growing up :)
Something new that we've noticed this week is that Owen is desperately trying to suck on his thumbs. He tries so hard to get his thumb in there, but usually ends up only getting part of his fist in. So, Cory and I have been helping him:

Last week, Owen visited Daddy at work for the first time! Cory's coworkers were anxious to meet him and Owen did a great job with "behaving", ha! So before we left Daddy and Owen got in some good snuggle time:
Sunday after church, we decided to take Owen to our most favorite of all fall places - Tuttles Orchard! Before making the drive to Tuttles, we came home, changed out of our church clothes and dressed Owen in his pumpkin shirt & overalls :) We hit Stoney Creek in Noblesville first since we've never been there and have heard a lot about it - and it seems like a super fun place for older kiddos. We weren't impressed with pumpkin selections there so after a quick drive through we headed out east to Tuttles. While Owen slept in his car seat, Cory and I reminisced about how Tuttles has played an important part in our lives since we first met. It's where we had one of our first dates, became our first couple "tradition" and they supplied us with our wedding favors (caramel apples) back in 2006. Each year, we've gotten our pumpkins from Tuttles along with all kinds of other yummy fall treats. However, as we started down the familiar road to the patch & orchard we were nervous about the lack of cars we saw.....and sure enough we pull in and they are CLOSED on Sundays :( We should have checked before we made the drive, but at least Owen slept the entire time and Cory and I were able to "get out" for a bit....so our REAL Tuttles trip will be coming up soon :)
Here's Owen needing some Mommy cuddles during a shopping trip - so we hung out in the parking lot of Clay Terrace & listened to some Michael Buble - then all was well and we could continue on.
So this week is a big week for us. Tonight we meet with Pastor Mills since Owen's baptism is on Sunday. We have enjoyed the one on one time with him so much over these last few weeks and feel very blessed to have found a wonderful church community. Cory's family is coming into town on Friday and will be staying with us through the weekend and my parents will be coming to town on Saturday. Since most of you reading this blog know me pretty well, I'm sure you can picture how crazy I'm going with wanting to clean, organize and decorate before everyone gets here so that things are perfect :)
Cory and I are doing well - still very sleepy, but thankfully healthy and well into our established routines. We are both so grateful for each moment we get together with each other and for the moments that the 3 of us have together. Owen has really started coo'ing and giving us authentic smiles (not related to gas bubbles or spit up) - and each time we hear his little voice or see that brilliant smile, our hearts melt and we know that all the sleepless nights are totally worth it!
