2009 = The Year of Owen

Dearest Owen,

Today is the last day of 2009. As your Daddy rocked you to sleep we were both in awe of the miracle of you. We are so very thankful & joyful that you came into our lives this year. Your arrival has changed our lives in more ways then we could have imagined or prepared for

During this decade, year by year, especially exciting things happened for Mommy & Daddy - graduation, new jobs, getting married, buying our first home and of course the 2 1/2 year long journey to bring you into our lives! The moment you arrived something changed Mommy & Daddy forever. We knew that we would do absolutely anything for you. We also knew that the responsibility of being parents would be a never ending job that always comes before anything else.

Through these first 5 months of your life, we've held you around the clock when you first came home, comforted you during colic flare ups and then you started to reward us with the biggest smiles we could have ever imagined. Lately, we've let you chomp on anything you've wanted (within reason of course!), introduced you to the mirror and helped you learn how to roll! Our reward for that has been belly laughs beyond our wildest imagination!

We are so proud of all that you have learned & discovered so far. We know that 2010 will be a milestone year as you learn to crawl, walk and speak your first words! Daddy is already working with you on "ma-ma and da-da"! So as you sleep tonight, little one, sweet dreams and a very happy new year.
