On Saturday, Cory's parents sent me a lovely bouquet of flowers in a gorgeous white & blue vase with a "congrats" card for my graduation (thank you again, Alberts!). Then my sweet Cory came home from running some errands and surprised me with a dozen red roses, again for my graduation. My parents arrived shortly after Cory, and they came with a huge surprise for me...the vintage-shabby chic floral dish and service ware I'd been looking at for months! Wow!
The day was going great so far and we decided to go out and do some shopping before dinner. We headed down to Keystone at the Crossing and were walking towards the Smith and Hawken store when the tip of my right flip-flop got caught on some uneven concrete and I wasn't able to stabilize myself and fell hard, pulling my right foot back and feeling a huge *pop* in the center of my foot. Immediately, I felt it swelling, and swore that it was broken because of the pain, so Dad pulled the Explorer around and we drove to the St. V's ER. It took about 4 1/2 hours in the ER to be diagnosed with a sprain and soft tissue damage and by the time we got home we were all exhausted.
So, everyone teased me that the flowers, cards and gifts were all now "get well" instead of "congrats"! Well done guys, ha! Here's a picture of my foot from today, it look so much better than it did earlier in the week. You can see the bruising and some of the swelling:
