As happy as we were to see that my hCG levels were increasing appropriately, we had another level drawn on 12/27 = 2,943, which again, showed a great increase. However, these results were obtained at the hospital after a spotting scare. It started when we were still in Warsaw for our Xmas vacation when I noticed some pinkish-light brown spotting. I immediatly began preparing myself for the worst - after 3 early losses, it felt impossible to keep hope - while Cory called our OB to explain the findings. He wanted us to come into triage for an exam with US and to check my hCG levels again- thankfully, my levels came back perfect and we had a great 5w4d US that showed a gestational sac with a yolk sac & fetal pole inside.
It was still too early to see a fetal heart beat - as that doesn't start until at least 6 weeks, so we have our next US appointment on 1/8/09 at 3:30pm.
