Owen's 1st EFM strip!

One of the benefits to teaching OB clinicals at my hospital is knowing that every Friday I'm going to be surrounded by my L&D RN's, my OB's and MFM staff :) It's a very comforting place to work as a pregnant gal, ha! So, in between clinicals on Friday afternoon, I had to go down to MFM to talk with one of the RN's who was with a morning student of mine. Once we were finished with "business" she offered to hook me up to the external fetal monitor so we could listen to Owen...mommy never passes up a chance to use her doppler at home, so as if it would be different at the hospital! We found his sweet little FHR right away and he traced beautifully for us for about 2 minutes :) His rate was in the 150's - 160's with good variability - yay!! He was moving SO much towards the end that we decided to stop.

Mommy was so proud of her sweet Owen for letting us see & hear his little heart beating away :)
